The 2022 Toyota Proace City compact van offers best-in-class load-carrying capabilities and high equipment specifications, perfect for customers who need their business transport to double as a mobile office.
Proace City sits alongside its medium duty Proace, Hilux pick-up and Land Cruiser Commercial siblings to give Toyota 80% coverage of the UK’s light commercial vehicle market. This range is overseen by Toyota Professional, our programme of services for new and established LCV customers.

Five versions of the Proace City are available, with panel vans in short (2,785mm) and long (2,975mm) wheelbase body styles. All can carry two standard European pallets (1,200 x 800mm) in the easy-access load area, which can be accessed via sliding side doors and twin side-hinged rear doors that open to 180 degrees.

The load area volume is 3.3 cubic metres for the short body version and 3.9 cubic metres for the long, while the payload is up to one tonne. Further space is available with the clever Smart Cargo feature (standard on Icon and Design and optional on Active grade), which creates an extra 0.4 cubic metres of space and increases the maximum load length by 1.3 metres by folding down the nearside front passenger seat. However, if the configurable interior space is still not big enough to take everything that is needed, Proace City has a class-leading 1.5-tonne towing capacity.

Two variations of 1.5-litre turbo diesel powertrain will be available – 100bhp and 130bhp – as the entry-level 75bhp engine has now been deleted. Both are equipped with stop-start technology to support fuel economy and lower emissions. Maintenance should be carried out every two years or 25,000 miles, while extra reassurance is provided by Toyota’s comprehensive warranty (see last subheading). Residual values are strong and in line with those achieved by the larger Proace sibling.
Although sitting at the entry point of the range, Active grade still includes the following standard features:
Options for Active grade models include the Smart Cargo system in a package that also includes an electronic parking brake, driver’s seat lumbar support, and slide/recline adjustment of the passenger two-seat bench. A tow bar is also available.

As the middle grade, Icon includes the following additional standard features:
Options for Icon grade models include a Toyota Safety Sense package, which includes a Pre-Collision System, Road Sign Assist, Lane Departure Alert and a ‘coffee cup’ alert that recommends the driver to take a break if they have spent a long time at the wheel. A 3.5-inch colour multi-information display, immobiliser and alarm, and tow bar can also be specified.

Introduced for the 2022 Proace City range is a new top-of-the-range Design grade. As the most generously appointed model, it includes the following additional features:

Initially, the Design version is available with the 100bhp 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine in standard wheelbase form. However, in spring 2022, the choice will be extended with a new 130bhp version of the 1.5-litre engine exclusively paired with automatic transmission. This version is available to order now with deliveries expected from March 2022.

All new Proace City models are sold with a three-year/60,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty. With the Toyota Relax programme, this is extended by 12 months or 10,000 miles annually, after the vehicle is serviced at an authorised Toyota centre. Subject to terms and conditions, this warranty can be extended up to 10 years or 100,000 miles at no extra cost. New Toyota Professional models are also sold with five years’ roadside assistance cover, giving further customer peace of mind.
