Dev Home Preview 0.3 Release

We’re back with another release for Dev Home! This release updates Dev Home Preview to version 0.3 and the Dev Home GitHub extension to version 0.3 as well. You can install Dev Home from the Microsoft Store or from the GitHub releases page. Let’s get into what’s new.

Rearrangeable widgets

You read right! Widgets can now be rearranged in the Dev Home dashboard by clicking and dragging. We’ve also fixed the bug where your widgets would get randomly rearranged, so your preferred dashboard layout should now remain intact.

Miscellaneous improvements

️ The GitHub query is now displayed when adding an issue or pull request widget with a URL containing filters.

️ Empty widgets show a message rather than nothing.

️ In the repository review and repository tool dialogs, long names are now truncated. The tooltip will show the whole name.

️ We’ve added progress rings for when Dev Home is fetching repositories.

️ The terms checkbox in the setup tool review page should only be shown if apps are selected to be installed.

Bug fixes

Our localization should be improved.

The speed on the CPU widget should now show the actual CPU speed (Thanks @daxter44!).

Times shown in GitHub widgets should now align to the times displayed on GitHub.

Clicking the Add widget button shouldn’t crash Dev Home anymore.
